What would it profit a woman to gain all of the shoes, clothes, and luxuries of the world and lose her soul?

Hello All,

I was thinking back to last year  when the So Kate Christian Louboutin shoes came out and I wanted them so badly as a graduation present for myself. During this shopping experience I was thinking about how important things are like this to women. We have to have the latest shoe or handbag and will save a percentage of our bi-weekly check consistently to get what we desire. And then you have some women who will desire these luxuries from a man. What if we had all of these things and still lost our soul?

Do not get me wrong. I do not think it is anything wrong with expensive things.I have a few expensive pieces myself, however, I do believe that there is a problem with the way some people go about getting these things. It breaks my heart that women will sleep with a man for a $5,000 handbag or a $500.00 pair of shoes. I am reminded of a very popular scripture Proverbs 31:30 "Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised". I believe that this is a problem of priorities. We live in a microwave society where people do not want to work for things anymore. They prioritize how important it will be to look the best and wear the best and will do "ANYTHING" to get it.

I was reading the book of Mark and this post really came to me as well. Mark 8:36 states "For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" We have to remember that being on earth is a temporary thing. The things we do to gain the luxuries of this world can harm in many ways. We have to remember what God has for us, it is for us! We may not be able to have the classic flat quilted Chanel bag today but if we work hard and keep out focus on serving God whether we are able to get it or not in the future, our hearts will continue to be fulfilled through Jesus Christ.

xoxo
