Life Hurts but God Heals! "Scars"

   

     When you think about scars, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Is it the scar you have on your knee from falling off of your bicycle as a child? Is it the scar on your heart from past abuse or pain? Scars come in many forms as a reminder of a lesson learned, or an experience that will most likely never be forgotten. I know for a fact that I can tell the story of  every scar that I have on my body. And I know many people who can do the same. My scars prove to me that God can heal all pain, and injury emotional or physical. My scars prove that life hurts but God heals. 

     I am reminded of Isiah 53:4-5:

"Surely He has borne our griefs

And carried our sorrows;

Yet we esteemed Him stricken,

Smitten by God, and afflicted.

5 

But He was wounded for our transgressions,

He was bruised for our iniquities;

The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,

And by His stripes we are healed." (NKJV).

     I think about my past when I cut myself with a razor cotinuosly because of emotional pain. I look down at the scars and continue to remind myself not of my past hurt but of God's healing virtue. It amazes me how wonderful God is. We must always remember that although we may experience the pain of life, if we remain focused on God, he will continue to heal, deliver and set free!
